Experienced EHS Manager

We are now strengthen our organization by establishing an Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) function across our sites in Sweden, working in close collaboration with our Danish counterpart.
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and pragmatic EHS Manager to work with and ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations in Sweden. This position is a key position and you need to be experienced and have good knowledge of legal requirements and best practices within the life sciences or chemical industry. As a individual you have a proactive approach and like to work in a dynamic and fast-paced setting. You are used to work cross functional and engage with others and we see that the responsibility is to EHS to fostering a culture of safety and wellbeing, so that everybody sees it as a priority and contributes to get a work environment we are proud of.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership: Develop and lead the EHS strategy in alignment with company goals and regulatory requirements to support a sustainable business.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant EHS regulations and standards in Sweden, including ISO standards and applicable compliance frameworks.
Safe Work Environment: Foster a culture of safety by developing and implementing programs that protect the health and well-being of all employees.
Environmental Management: Develop and implement initiatives to minimize the environmental impact of operations, including waste management, emissions control, and resource conservation.
Policy Development: Establish and maintain EHS policies and procedures that align with corporate objectives and local regulations, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.
Risk Assessment: Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to minimize potential hazards.
Training & Education: Lead the development and delivery of EHS training programs to enhance awareness and ensure compliance across the organization.
Incident Management: Oversee incident investigations, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Authority Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact with relevant authorities in Sweden, ensuring compliance and effective communication on EHS matters.
Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives in EHS performance, leveraging industry best practices. Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to foster a safe and compliant working environment.
Reporting: Collect and submit relevant data to authorities for annual reporting purposes. Establish and monitor EHS performance metrics and KPIs.
Qualifications:
Education: University Degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive experience in EHS roles within the life sciences or chemical industry, with demonstrated expertise in managing a broad range of safety risks.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of local, national, and international EHS regulations and standards, including ISO standards and applicable compliance frameworks.
Skills: Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
Language Proficiency: Fluency in both English and Swedish is required.
